Initially, Acclaim were brought into support the Pera Training assessment programme at the Jaguar Land Rover Halewood manufacturing plant. As an Associate Level 2 assessor in Business Improvement Techniques, Simon was expected to mentor and motivate a case load of learners to deliver 3 improvements each. Simon not only hit the floor running by immediately meeting the standards and throughput that the contract demanded, but was also able to support the Pera training contract with JLR by supplying us with ROI case studies that could be used to further our business.
It was this kind of support that helped Pera Training win the contract to deliver further programmes at the Solihull and Castle Bromwich plants. It was evident throughout the Halewood programme that we could utilise Simons skills and experience to deliver the Training, rather than assessment, and as such, he was brought in Solihull to do this. At Solihull, Simon completed the training of 10 cohorts (240 delegates), completing Pera Training and JLRs internal training competency standards to a very high standard; the first associate Trainer to have met these standards
Simon then went where the training went; firstly back up to Halewood to be part of the second phase of training, and then to the Castle Bromwich plant, for the prestigious Jaguar contract. Each contract run by a different Operations Manager, and it is a testament to Simons value that he was identified by each to be a key member of their respective training teams.
However, when asked by Pera and Jaguar Land Rover to take-over the assessment of the Level 3 Business Improvement Techniques, Simon took a lead on this, rescuing a situation that could have put Pera Training into a bad light. Furthering Peras foothold within the JLR community, we won a contract to deliver high-level leadership training to JLRs management team across all manufacturing plants. Needless to say, once the pilot was deemed successful and the development teams moved away, Simon was the first choice to deliver this training, with his extensive knowledge of Leadership training. Inspiring confidence in Peras and JLRs management that the purpose of the training would be exceeded with Simon running them. This was supported by the feedback scores from the delegates.
Furthermore, in being a key member of delivering the training, Simon also contributed heavily to the continual improvements that have seen the course being taken up by other parts of JLR; namely the Product Development facilities, who, in seeing the success of the course, invested in putting their own management through it. Needless to say, Simon helped develop and deliver the pilot course.
All in all, Simon has proven to be instrumental in the success that Pera Training has had within its key contract; Jaguar land Rover.

Simon and the Acclaim team were asked to come in and help us streamline our operation. We had little knowledge of lean techniques and didn't think they could be applied to retail. Simon showed us how to apply the DTi 7 measures, and more importantly, ensured the training was tailored to our specific needs. The implementation of a project to make better use of our floor space was enough to cover the cost of the training alone. When Acclaim had finished we had a clear plan in place to help us increase revenue by over 12% whilst actually reducing our costs.
For any future training we need, Acclaim will be our first call.
